URGENT SAFETY NOTICE – IGHTFIELD PLAYGROUND

The Parish Council has been made aware of a serious safety issue at the aerial runway in Ightfield Playground. It has come to our attention that preventative safety measures which have been put in place to stop the equipment from being used have been tampered with.

During our weekly playground inspection today, it was found that the seat - which had been secured in a raised position to prevent use, had been deliberately pulled down. In addition, the 'Out of Order' signs had been removed and thrown on the floor.

Tampering with these safety measures is extremely dangerous and could result in serious injury.

We ask all parents and guardians to speak with any children who may have visited the playground about the importance of respecting safety notices and not interfering with equipment that has been taken out of use.

These measures are in place solely to protect the public until the necessary repairs have been completed.

We are currently working with our specialist contractors to secure replacement parts. Installation is provisionally scheduled for Wednesday next week.

We appreciate that it is frustrating not being able to use this popular piece of equipment, however the safety of everyone using the playground is our highest priority.
