Kent Police ant to make residents aware that there have been recent reports of car thefts in the surrounding areas. Criminals are targeting vehicles parked on driveways and streets, often using technology to bypass keyless entry systems.

What you can do to protect your vehicle:

Lock your car and check twice – even if you’re only leaving it for a short time.

Use a steering wheel lock – a visible deterrent can make thieves think twice.
Keep keys away from doors and windows – store them in a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday bag) to prevent relay attacks.
Install CCTV or motion sensor lighting – good visibility can deter criminals.
Report suspicious activity immediately – call 999 if a crime is in progress or 101 for non-emergencies.

If your vehicle is stolen:

Contact the police straight away.
Inform your insurance company.
If you have a tracker, activate it immediately.

Your vigilance helps keep our community safe. Please share this advice with friends and family.

Kind regards,
