Village Design Statement
Stowe Nine Churches Parish Council
Almost 18 months ago, Stowe Nine Churches Parish Council made the decision to develop a “Village Design Statement” (VDS).
A VDS is a document that describes the distinctive characteristics of the locality, and provides design guidance to influence future planning and development.
More than 50 residents attended an initial public meeting and subsequently, the VDS has been developed through a range of volunteer Working Parties.
The resulting document has now reached the stage where it has been approved by the Parish Council, and submitted to Daventry District Council (DDC) as the local Planning Authority, for review.
DDC will further consult with local residents in the course of their review, but once the review is completed, the intention is that our Village Design Statement will be formally adopted by DDC and become part of the local planning framework.
If you have any comments or feedback on the VDS please contact the Parish Clerk, Linda Carter in the first instance.
