Village Safety Proposals Overview

The Guiting Power Parish Council are currently evaluating two separate initiatives designed to make the village a safer place to live and work. As such we are looking for feedback and an understanding of the level of support for each of these independent projects.

The two most consistent concerns raised by villagers over the last year have been

  • Crime - including house invasions and stolen goods from sheds and vehicles, and anti-social behaviour
  • Traffic - Volume and speed of vehicles through the centre of the village

Our ambition is to address each of these in the most cost-effective way within the limitations of the Parish Council authority and budget.

We are also conscious of residents’ wishes to keep the village unchanged from a living and working perspective whilst recognising the need for some action.

The accompanying pages (please see Guiting Power Rural Crime Prevention Camera Proposal and Guiting Power Road Safety Proposal) provide residents with information relating to each of the two initiatives and the opportunity to feedback prior to any decisions being taken by the Parish Council.

These two projects will also be discussed at the Annual Parish Meeting on Thursday, 28 May at 7:30pm in the Guiting Power Village Hall.
