We'll see you all soon!
The opening event of Regency Week on Friday 19th June is a free of charge drinks reception at the Alton House Hotel - you just need to register so we know you're coming! Waterstone's bookshop will also be hosting Katherine Sutherland, talking about Jane Austen in 41 Objects, and the free family trail at the Curtis Museum begins!
On Saturday 20th June the Regency Fayre (starting at 10am) and Regency Parade (starting at 11am) take place throughout Alton high street and inside the Assembly Rooms - and the Regency Dolls House will be on display. There is a Regency-themed town walk starting at 11am from The Cairn.
The Midsummer Ball has now sold out, but there are still places for the afternoon's dance workshop, and you can still book a slot for hairstyling with Joanne Cossey. If you'd like to join in something less strenous, the Curtis Museum is hosting "Food & Drink in the Time of Jane Austen".
On the morning of Sunday 21st June, Alton's local historian is hosting a walk around Jane Austen's Chawton - and Caroline Knight hosts a picnic in the grounds of Chawton House. In the afternoon St Lawrence Church hosts Choral Evensong and Holybourne Theatre will be presenting "Being Mr Wickham". In the evening Waterstone's welcomes Paula Byrne and "Jane Austen, Rise of a Genius".
