Hi All,

My name’s Dave Berridge and, as a new member, I wanted to do my bit to support the club and volunteer my free services. So, as someone with experience of web design, and with Janet and Roger’s permission, I’ve taken responsibility for updating the Long Eaton Town Bowls Club website.

The aim is to make the website a ‘go to’ place for the latest information, such as match fixtures, results, and forthcoming events. You’ll still be able to use the club notice boards and Facebook page to update members too. However, if you subscribe to the website by clicking on the “sign up to our email alerts” button on the site, you’ll get an email when any club events, or news items are updated.

Moving forward I’ll need club captains to send me their team’s results, either by email, or ‘What’s App’ after each match, so I’ve put my contact details below. I would just need team captains to tell me what the result was, e.g. won 23 – 7, or lost 19 – 9. I’ll then endeavour to get these results on the website within 24hours. You can also let me know about any other relevant match information, such as rearranged fixture dates. I can also put the latest League tables on the website when these are updated.

As the season unfolds, I’ll be taking some club photos to update the website. It would be great to get photos of players, as well as the club, but if you’d rather not be in any of the photos please let me know.

Any suggestions, or ideas for the website are welcome. We’re a little bit restricted by the limitations of the Hugo Fox website design tools so, it may not look much different to what you may have seen in the past but all fixtures and some updated news items are now on the site. We also have a better website address www.longeatontownbowlsclub.co.uk which will make us easier to find.
