This year marked the 10th Anniversary of Wilmington's Big Spring Clean and at the event held today over 30 bags of litter were collected as well as a number of Nitrous Oxide cannisters and some larger items.
At the sessions held in Wilmington and Joydens Wood held today Parish Councillors were joined by residents, County Councillor Alan Cecil, Borough Councillor George Holt and a large contingent of volunteers for the RRT Global Charity.
Leading the Wilmington session, Parish Councillor Stacey Brown said 'Thank you to everyone who came out to help. Thanks also to Dartford Borough Council and Wilmington Grammar School for Boys who did a lot of heavy clearing over the last gtwo weeks in support. The volunteers covered a lot of ground and the sun shone which was welcomed. This year is the 10th Big Spring Clean which the Parish Council is proud to coordinate'.
Leading the Joydens Wood session, Parish Chairman David Mann commented that 'Thanks to a great team of volunteers nine bags of litter was collected which was noticeably less than collected in previous years due to less litter being found. Perhaps our community is getting more litter conscious? Well done all',
