The Parish Council is calling for witnesses following reports of a mid-blue Audi causing damage to the Village Green outside the disused Ship Inn on Green Street Green Road by driving over it in a bid to perform a doughnut. The mindless act of doughnutting is a manoeuvre performed while driving a vehicle which entails rotating the rear or front of the vehicle around the opposite set of wheels in a continuous motion, creating a circular skid-mark pattern - this time right in the middle of Council property!

The incident occurred on Friday 4 September between 8.30 and 8.45am. The culprit was heard bragging that he was test-driving the £80,000 vehicle. There could be a local Audi dealership who had this car returned with slightly more mud on the wheels than expected from a usual test-drive? It is hoped that new bunding recently installed around the Village Green will deter future selfish activity of this nature.
