Once again, people have left things in bin areas and they have been left behind by the council's normal collection team. This time it's deckchairs, parasols and lawnmowers but in recent weeks the grounds staff have found bicycles, hobs and freezers.

None of these things are eligable as normal household waste.

There are a number of ways of getting rid of bulk rubbish but right now the council are running a free bulky waste scheme called The Crunch.

Next Saturday 3rd August 2024 between 9:00-12:30 you can take bulky waste to Laindon - King Edward Community Centre Car Park, SS15 6HL.

If you have significant health and mobility issues, you can email the Crunch scheme and request a collection from your door.

Just send an email to crunch@basildon.gov.uk with the following information.

I'd like to request an assisted Crunch collection.

Name
Address
Phone

1. I do not currently receive an assisted collection for household waste and recycling because our site benefits from communal collections.
2. I have the following health or mobility issues which mean I cannot use one of the Crunch drop off zones.

(List your issues here)

Thank you.

(if you know anyone who might be eligible but doesn't have email, please let us know and the residents association can send it for them)
