Past Events 1992 - 1996
The Chideock Society has hosted many events for their members over the years and our archive of Posters gives us details of these events.
We have selected some of these Posters going back to 1992 and below is the advertising material for the AGM held on 14th July 1992.
1993
1993 saw a host of events including’Focus on Bats’ an illustrated talk by Frances Sanctuary on 9th February 1993 in the village hall.
1994
Two events held this year were ‘Down to the Sea in Slips’ an illustrated talk by Denys Brunsden on Tuesday 12th April and also a Garden Party was held at ‘Glenacres’ at Seatown by kind permission of Mr. & Mrs. Burlton on 18th June. Ticket price for the garden party was £5.00 for members and you had to take your ‘own garden chairs!)
1995
The 1995 programme saw
- a talk on Guide Dogs for the Blind by Mrs Tyrell (owner of a guide dog) on 14th March
- The Work of The Coastguards with Sector Officer, Colin Davis on 11th April
- a bonanza ‘Australia Style Bar-B-Q’ held at Vine Cottage on 16th June.
1996
Due to popular demand The Chideock Society Spring Programme presented ‘The Spring Quiz' on 9th April.
Members were invited to attend ‘Windows on the Sudan’ a talk by The Reverend Joseph Ayok-Loewenberg on Tuesday 8th October.
