Friends of Meads Parks and Gardens
Eastbourne Heritage Open Days 2021
The Friends will once more be taking part in this event by staging an exhibition in the Italian Gardens telling the story of their creation in the early 1900s to the present day.
Exhibition dates and times:
Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September and Saturday 18* and Sunday 19* September
from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm.
*New for this year
On the second weekend, our Secretary Jan Black will be running free activities featuring plants that grow in our parks.
- learn how to dry lavender and fill small organza bags to dot around your home, filling it with that unforgettable fragrance.
- learn how to make rose petal pot pourri and unlock the secret that helps it to retain its scent.
- learn to make smudge sticks using sage, rosemary and thyme. These can be burnt like incense to freshen the air, clear unpleasant smells, aid concentration and - some say – banish evil spirits…
The activities will take place at 12.30 pm and 2.30 pm on both days and are suitable for both adults and children.
Please join us. We would love to see you
