Ilkley Grammar School is proud of its excellent reputation in the local community and of its long service to the education of students in the Wharfe Valley.
As a comprehensive Academy we quite simply want everyone to achieve their Personal Best, whatever their individual talents and aspirations.
We achieve outstanding examination results but even in a large school recognise every child as an individual and not a statistic, and work hard to nurture successful, happy and confident learners who achieve in the widest sense of the word.
Our School
Founded in 1607, our comprehensive school has a long and proud tradition of high quality education in the local community. With a school roll of 1553 students (including 320 Post 16), we were Bradford's first new convertor Academy on July 1st and look to this new status to benefit our students and open new opportunities and new ways of learning.
We have been a Specialist School in Science and Humanities (Science, Maths and English) since 2005.
Ilkley Grammar School takes seriously the challenge and support, and the parent partnerships, essential if every child is to enjoy and achieve, whatever their individual talents and aspirations. We celebrated our 400th anniversary in 2007, but whilst retaining traditional values, creativity, innovation and improvement are at the heart of our learning community.
Our October 2011 Ofsted Inspection; confirmed that at Ilkley Grammar School 'students achieve exceptionally well and they enjoy their education.'
