Who are Kinza?

KINZA

Kinza is a brand-new charity all about sharing and caring in the local community. If the last year has taught us anything, it is that a little kindness can go a long way.

We are a dedicated online store for second hand or pre-loved clothing, toys and household items – but not for profit.

Unlike other online marketplaces, we plan to offer free items to families that need it most, whilst offering that family full anonymity. In every community there are people that have fallen on hard times, and in the current climate with job losses and family losses, support is needed now more than ever.

With the help of monetary donations from individuals and organisations, we can grow into the charitable online store that our communities need. Funding will help us to acquire a storage facility for all our lovingly donated items, the means to deliver them to those that need it, and the ability to communicate our service to the local community.

The name Kinza derives from the Arabic “Kinz”, meaning “hidden treasure”. We hope to be able to find and provide treasure to those who need it most.

OUR PRINCIPLES

  • We want to keep it local : Many say that charity begins at home, and with Kinza it can begin and end right around the corner. All purchases and donations will go towards funding the organization and delivering free items to families in need.
  • We want to champion sustainability: By rehoming fully functional items that have perhaps been outgrown or are no longer required, we can stop so much ending up in our landfills and recycling centres. We have aspirations to track every item so we can ensure we’re truly keeping donations local, and we can ensure that any items that do have to be recycled are done so responsibility.
  • We offer anonymity: It isn’t always easy to ask for help. At Kinza, we recognize that there are so many reasons why someone could benefit from a rehomed item, and we won’t ask questions unless we have.
