The Pan Parish River Pollution Forum (PPRP Forum) is a group of parishes in the Test Valley which have joined together to raise awareness about the extent of the pollution of the River Test and the damage this is causing to the river’s ecology, and the threat it represents to local businesses and livelihoods and to public health.

The parish councils in the PPRP Forum include: Barton Stacey, Chilbolton, Houghton, Goodworth Clatford, King’s Somborne, Lockerley, Longstock, North Baddesley, Nursling & Rownhams, Romsey Town Council, Shipton Bellinger, Stockbridge, and Wherwell.

People throughout the Test Valley are becoming increasingly concerned about the pollution of the River Test, but many people are still unaware of just how frequent discharges of untreated sewage into the river have become or how serious the consequences are for the river’s ecology. The River Test is one of the world’s most famous and cherished chalk streams. It is the very lifeblood of the Test Valley, and it is under threat as never before.

The PPRP Forum is campaigning to stop further incidents of pollution of the river and is calling on Southern Water, the Environment Agency, Test Valley Borough Council and elected local and parliamentary representatives and other relevant bodies to enforce and improve legislation and practices to prevent further damage to the river.
