Devon County Council Notices

Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 – Schedule 14 application

Parish of Petrockstowe

Proposed addition of a byway along New Road and a bridleway along American Lane

Informal Consultation

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review, and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, re-graded or deleted.

Devon County Council has received a formal application to record public rights of way along New Road and American Lane in the parish of Petrockstowe, and it has been considered appropriate to take the application out of turn, in line with the County Council’s Rights of Way improvement Plan. Consequently, I would appreciate your comments, and any evidence that you may have regarding the proposal by Friday 28th June 2024.

Consultations are taking place with other local authorities, user groups and landowner groups. The review is also being advertised to the general public, with maps available for inspection in the locality and online at https://www.devon.gov.uk/haveyoursay/categories/prow/. After this consultation period the application will be evaluated, and a recommendation for amending the map will be made to the Public Rights of Way Committee.

I would appreciate it if you could keep the consultation on deposit for public inspection until the end of the consultation period on the 28th June 2024. -
