Steam Loco Ivor Acquired

We have acquired Ivor from The North Cornwall Railway in September 2023. We understand that it was built for the Ferry Meadows Miniature Railway by Mr A Mills and Mr D Jones who delivered it in 1991. Around 2001 it was sold to the Royal Victoria Miniature Railway and was subsequently sold to a private line in Essex. The North Cornwall Railway purchased it in 2022 but on finding it not suitable for their line offered it for sale and we agreed to buy it.

It was taken to Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway in October 2023 where it underwent overhaul and remedial works, valve timing, regulator problems, and lack of vacumn braking being some of the main issues addressed. It underwent test runs at Eastleigh and was used on several public services there. Eastleigh also undertook staff training of our personnel in the safe preparation, operation and disposal of the loco. We would like to put on record our grateful thanks to the team at Easleigh for the splendid work done to improve the performance and reliability of Ivor and for the invaluable training provided.

Ivor was transferred to Ropley on the 13th April 2024 and was steamed and run on public services for the first time 27th April 2024 during the Spring Steam Gala at the Watercress Line.
