Thursday Club

We were in for a bit of a surprise at our May meeting.  Unfortunately Tony's wife Penny was poorly so he was unable to come and give his presentation on 200 years of the RNLI.  We will be trying to sort out an alternative date for this.

Luckily Nick Townsend stepped into the breach and took us back to his magical childhood in Tanganyika, complete with fantastic photos and memories.  Thank you Nick for coming to our rescue!

After 21 years of cheerful support, Cherry has decided to hang up her Thursday Club apron as she has other things she would like to do on a Thursday afternoon.  We will miss her so much and hope she will still pop in and see us from time to time.  We welcome Gill Townsend to the team so you see we are thoroughly indebted to the Townsends!

Our next get together will be on Thursday 13th June when we are going out for tea at Avon Mill.  They have a wonderful tea menu (see below) and you can decide when you get there what you would like to have.  Although they won't reserve tables, we reckon that we should be fine: lots of room there and a 2.30 p.m. arrival should ensure that it won't be too busy.  We just want to know numbers so we can advise the cafe.

Numbers attending our afternoons have dropped off slightly: please keep coming as Thursday Club needs your support if it is to continue.

Everyone is welcome to our meetings - feel free to bring a friend or two!  £3.00 per person plus £1 for a raffle ticket.  Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements.
