Councillor Simon Norton

Simon Norton was co-opted onto Speldhurst Parish Council in March 2022 and is Chair of the Highways Committee. He is also a member of the Planning and Amenities Committees. 

Simon has worked as a senior civil servant advising Ministers on employment policies and managing programmes to assist unemployed people. Subsequently, he moved into the world of education and training, becoming executive director of an education funding agency and then principal of a further education college.

Simon moved to Tunbridge Wells with his wife and family in the 1980s before moving to Groombridge in 2009. He has been involved in local work to help improve road safety, as well as on issues like planning and the environment.

Simon believes that by serving on the Parish Council he can help make a positive contribution to the life of our community.
