Welcome to Wingrave Bowls Club.

Our club sits in a beautiful setting at the centre of the village in the Buckinghamshire countryside.   

2025 was a big year for us - we celebrated our centenary and thanks to funding from the UK Government, our Parish Council and our members we were able to completely rebuild our clubhouse.  We look forward to welcoming bowls clubs to our new facilities which we will use for the first time at the beginning of the 2026 season.

The new clubhouse will be open all year and will be available for use by members of the community when it is not being used by the Bowls Club. Details of the facilities available, opening hours, hire costs and how to book can be found in in the clubhouse hire section of the website.

Our five rink green is open for play from mid April to the end of September.  Members can practice and play at any time using a rink booking system. We hold a club roll-up every Monday and Friday afternoon from 4pm to dusk. If you would like to give bowls a try, just come along to one of these evenings.  We will provide all necessary equipment and our qualified coaches are available for guidance on how to play bowls.

We play friendly and competitive matches with clubs in the surrounding areas and run internal club competitions throughout the season. Members do not have to play in the competitions and can simply play just for fun. 

We hold social events throughout the year including galas, quiz nights, informal matches against other village sports clubs and an annual presentation evening. In the close season a number of our members play indoor and short mat bowls. We also organise bowls tours each year and have visited many destinations in the UK, Portugal, Spain and Cyprus.

For a very modest annual subscription, few sports can match bowls in providing so much playing time and social activity for so little outlay.  Come and join us one warm summer evening on the green and enjoy the environment, it’s a great tonic for body and mind.
