The Competitions Committee met last night (29 April) to make the draw for this year's club competitions, which in the main have been well supported. The full draw is now available on the competitions pages of this website and you can start playing matches immediately: the online rink booking system should make it easier for you to make match arrangements, as you will not need to visit the club to find a free rink and time. Please take note of the advertised 'play by' dates and make sure you complete each round by that date.

We had good feedback from the shorter pairs competition last year and took iaccount of comments from members that pairs matches of 21 ends were taking too long to play (mostly over 2.5 hours, occasionally a lot longer). We considered reducing to 3 bowls per player but decided instead to reduce the ends played to16, while retaining the 4 wood format. This change will apply to all pairs competitions immediately and competition rules have been amended accordingly.
