Featherstone Parish Council

Welcome to the official website of Featherstone Parish Council.

Featherstone Parish lies on the South Tyne River, approximately three miles south-west of Haltwhistle. It includes the hamlets of Kellah, Redpath and Rowfoot.

Featherstone Parish Council represents the local community and works to maintain and improve the parish. The Council acts as a link between residents and Northumberland County Council, helping to address local issues.

About the parish

The parish is home to Featherstone Castle, a Grade I listed building. The present Gothic-style country house dates largely from the 18th century and stands on the site of an earlier fortified tower, reflecting the border history of the region.

The castle is prominently situated above the River Tyne and is a notable historic landmark within the parish.

Featherstone Village Hall is a traditional stone-built hall which plays an important role in community life. The hall hosts a range of events and activities, including live music, cornhole club, domino drives, teas and craft gatherings. It is also the venue for Parish Council meetings.

Council meetings

Parish Council meetings are held four times a year — in February, May, August and November — at Featherstone Village Hall.

• Meetings are open to the public
• Residents are welcome to attend
• Items for discussion can be raised with the Parish Clerk in advance

An Annual Parish Meeting is also held each year, providing an opportunity for residents to hear updates and discuss local issues.
