Welcome to the Petrockstowe Parish Council website.

On this site you will find the Agendas, Minutes of meetings, press releases and information from the Parish Council.  Members of the public are welcome to attend meetings and may raise matters for discussion with the Council, during the Public Session.  Please contact the Parish Clerk for further information.

The Council normally meets on the 3rd Tuesdays of January, March, July, September and November at 7.30pm in The Baxter Hall, with the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council held on the 3rd Tuesday in May. Agendas are available three clear working days prior to the meeting on the website and on the Parish Council noticeboard on the Baxter Hall.

The Annual Parish Meeting, which is normally held on the 3rd Tuesday in April is not strictly speaking a Council meeting, but rather the opportunity for parish residents and groups to tell the council what they would like to see happening in the forthcoming year. The Agenda is available seven clear working days prior to this meeting.

The latest minutes and agendas are accessible under current year documents.  Previous years documents can be accessed from the archive.

How to raise issues with your Parish Council:

Because of the nature of Parish Councils, there are certain formalities to which we must all adhere when wishing to raise issues with the Parish Council.

To raise an issue you should do one of the following;

Email the Parish Clerk, Fiona Lowe at petroc.clerk@hotmail.com If the issue is a Parish Council matter, it may then be added to the agenda for the next Parish Council Meeting.

Or

Attend a Parish Council meeting and raise the issue, in person and in brief, at the Public Session which occurs at the beginning of each Parish Council meeting.  Councillors may then request further information and try to help, but as it will not be on the published agenda no Council decision can be made.  It may then be placed on the agenda for the next meeting.

Or

Bring your concern to the attention of a Parish Councillor.  This is perfectly acceptable and if it is a matter for the Parish Council, they can then request that it be put on the forthcoming agenda.

Please bear in mind that all of the above are there to ensure that all Council business is brought before the Full Parish Council and that any action taken or decision made is the responsibility of the Parish Council.  Individual Councillors may be able to help by “pointing you” in the right direction, but are unable to make unilateral decisions on behalf of the Parish Council.

All contact details for the Petrockstowe Parish Councillors and the Parish Clerk are available in the Petrockstowe News.

The draft minutes of the previous meeting and the agenda for the next meeting are displayed on the Parish Council notice board at the Baxter Hall and are available on the Parish Council website www.petrockstowepc.uk. The date of the next meeting is also printed in the “News”.
