Transparency

Acklington Parish Council is committed to openness and transparency in the way it manages public funds.

The majority of the Parish Council’s income comes from the precept, which is collected through Council Tax by Northumberland County Council. The Parish Council sets the precept each January as part of the annual budget process.

The Council’s finances are monitored on a day-to-day basis by the Responsible Financial Officer (RFO).

Residents have the right to inspect the Council’s accounts each year during the public inspection period, details of which are included in the Notice of Public Rights documents below.
