Where we are
Acton Turville is a parish in the Cotswold Edge ward within South Gloucestershire, England. It lies 17 miles east-northeast of Bristol. We are close to the Wiltshire border and the M4 motorway (Junction 18). Acton Turville consists of a cluster of households across 1,009 acres, with a total population of 370 people.
We have a thriving pub - The Fox and Hounds - a delightful 12th century church - St. Mary's - a bustling Village Shop & Post Office and a highly regarded primary school - Trinity Church of England Primary School - which serves our village, our neighbours in Badminton and Tormarton and places wider afield.
We are rightly proud of our village. We hope you will find time to visit us and see why we love living here. A warm welcome is waiting for you.

The role of the Parish Council
Parish Councils are an essential part of the structure of local democracy in our country and play a key role in many of our towns and villages. They have a vital role in helping principal councils keep in touch with the smallest communities in their area.
Parish councils work in partnership with their principal council to bring government closer to the people, and to decentralise delivery of local government services.
Parish Councils are relatively small locally elected council bodies who are responsible for a limited number of matters in their immediate area. These can consist of items such as planning applications, highways, street care and public rights of way.
They are independent of the local District Council and are administered by a Parish Clerk.
