A Little About The Parish

The parish of Asselby is made up of the village of Asselby and the hamlets of Knedlington and Boothferry. The parish is a mixture of working farms, light commercial and residential properties. The hub of the parish is the local public house The Black Swan, located in the centre of Asselby.

The parish provides a haven of peace and tranquillity and is abundant with wildlife including owls, bats, herons, foxes and deer.  It is surrounded by rural countryside with several walks around the villages and surrounding areas with the Trans Pennine Cycle Trail passing through Knedlington and Asselby.

Village Notice Board

The Parish Council has a public notice board located on Main Street in Asselby, opposite The Black Swan public house.

The board displays useful local information including a residential map of Asselby.

Asselby Talking is an online community service administrated by its members and is in no way connected to the Parish Council.

The Parish Council may share official Parish Council news & updates to the Asselby Talking Facebook Group from time to time as matters arise to keep residents informed in real-time.
