Yep... "tut tut - look at that - somebody couldn't be bothered to take that home - just thrown it out of their car window"!

How many of us, and on how many occasions, have said that? Our pathways, hedgerows and road gutters all seem to be targets for litter marksmen.

Well... the tide is turning! The Astwood & Hardmead litter vigilantes have had enough! Armed with high-vis jackets, bin bags and litter claws, 2 teams are fighting back on Sunday 10th May. Meeting at 09:30 at either at Astwood Village Hall, or The Close, Hardmead, our picker posses will be on the warpath! Please, please join in (bring some sturdy gloves!) - the more the merrier - let's recover our community, making it more attractive, safer for all (humans and wildlife) and showing the litter louts that however lazy, or disrespectful they can be... we will not allow them to destroy our lovely community.

And what could be better, after giving the litter a trashing, to finish off at Astwood Village Hall, just in time for the monthly Coffee Morning and a well-earned drink and slice of home-baked hunger medicine!
