About Council

What does my Parish Council do?

Avenbury Parish Council is the first tier of local government for the civil parish of Avenbury in Herefordshire. Its role is to represent the interests of local residents, consider and comment on planning applications, liaise with Herefordshire Council on matters affecting the parish, and work to maintain and improve the quality of life within the local community. Like other parish councils in England, it has powers to support local services and community initiatives, address issues such as highways, footpaths, traffic and environmental concerns, and act as a voice for residents on local matters. Avenbury Parish Council serves a small rural population and focuses primarily on representing the communities of Avenbury and Munderfield, holding regular meetings where local issues can be discussed and decisions made on behalf of the parish.
