Welcome to Baldersby & Baldersby St. James Parish Council!

Baldersby is a village and civil parish located in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 6 miles (10 km) west of Thirsk and 5 miles (8 km) northeast of Ripon along the A61 road. The parish encompasses the village of Baldersby St. James, which lies 1 mile (1.6 km) southeast of Baldersby. However, Baldersby Park is not included in this parish, as it belongs to the parish of Rainton with Newby.

According to the 2011 census, the parish had a population of 285, an increase from 253 in 2001.

Baldersby is a vibrant community featuring a farm shop, an Anglican Mission Room, a cricket ground with a pavilion, and a children's play area. The local Church of St. James, a Church of England parish church, is located on Wide Howe Lane in Baldersby St. James and is part of the diocese of York. This Victorian church is a Grade I listed building, designed by the architect William Butterfield.

The Roman road known as Dere Street forms the western boundary of the parish, which is now followed by the A1(M) motorway. The Baldersby Gate Interchange, Junction 50 of the A1(M), connects the A61 to the A1(M) in the southern part of the parish.
