The Village Hall

The hall complex was built in 2004 and consists of The Dixon Hall (17.4m x 9.75m) and the Bruton Hall (9.75m x 6.7m). Other facilities include a green room, a committee room for up to 15 people and a large kitchen with refrigerator, oven, dishwasher and microwave. Cutlery, crockery and a limited number of glasses are available for your event although you are also welcome to hire these externally if you wish. We also have a projector and screens are fitted in all the main rooms, making the venue ideal for conferences, AGM's and even film nights.
There is a maximum capacity of 300 (including helpers and performers) or 210 if seated. We have a selection of rectangular and round tables that can be set up in a variety of ways to cater for different event requirements. The hall is large enough to cater for all kinds of activities, from wedding receptions to go-karting parties for young children.
The hall can be set up for theatre productions, with the option to have staging with a proscenium arch or raked seating. The recreation ground may be available for use, though not exclusively.
There is a large car park adjacent to the hall, an enclosed patio and play area in addition to the recreation ground and tennis courts. Regular activities include pilates, yoga, fitness and dance classes, folk dancing, table tennis and an active horticultural society. The Parish Council meets monthly in the committee room.
The bookings secretary will confirm the hiring rates applicable to your event and send you a booking form. As a guide, whole hall hire for children's birthday parties is £70 for four hours. For other events use of the whole hall is £30 per hour, reduced rates apply to regular hirers or hire of either the Dixon or Bruton halls alone. A weekend wedding/large event package is available on request. Please don't hesitate to call for further information or to arrange a viewing of the hall.
