Chapel Lane, Sissinghurst - 10th November 2025
Due to works planned to be undertaken by South East Water, it will be necessary to close part of Chapel Lane, Sissinghurst, from 10th November 2025 with estimated completion by 20th March 2026.
Chapel Lane, Sissinghurst, will be closed in 2 phases from the junction with A262 The Street to the junction with Golford Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
- Phase 1 from 10th November 2025 to 19th December 2025.
- Phase 2 from 5th January 2026 to 20th March 2026.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chapel Lane, Golford Road, Bakers Cross, The Hill, St Davids Bridge, Waterloo Road, A229 Wilsley Green, A229 Wilsley Pound Roundabout, A262 Sissinghurst Road, A262 The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow water main renewal works to be carried out, works are undertaken by South East Water.

Temporary Road Closure & Prohibition of Parking - Walkhurst Road, Benenden - 5th January
Due to works planned to be undertaken by SGN, it will be necessary to close part of Walkhurst Road, Benenden, from 5th January 2026 with estimated completion by 27th February 2026.
Walkhurst Road, Benenden, will be closed from the junction with B2086 The Street to the junction with Goddards Green Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Parking on Walkhurst Road will be prohibited as per signage on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Goddards Green Road, New Pond Road, B2086 The Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow gas mains replacement works to be carried out, works are undertaken by SGN.

Due to works planned to be undertaken by South East Water, it will be necessary to close part of Golford Road, Sissinghurst, from 9th February 2026 with estimated completion by 12th February 2026.
Golford Road, Sissinghurst, will be closed in the vicinity of Oast House. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Golford Road, Tenterden Road, Cranbrook Road, Benenden Road, Goddards Green Road, Golford Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce to allow reinstatement works to be carried out, works are undertaken by South East Water.

A229 The Common, Sissinghurst, will be closed from the junction with Common Road to the junction with Frittenden Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Quaker Lane, Waterloo Road, A229 Angley Road, Sheafe Drive, Quaker Lane and vice versa.

Goddards Green Road, Benenden, will be closed 1 Land north of Old Benenden Hospital. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via Goddards Green Road, Benenden Road, Cranbrook Road, Tenterden Road, Golford Road, Goddards Green Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

Due to works planned to be undertaken by Kent County Council, it will be necessary to close part of A262 Biddenden Road, A262 The Street & A262 Sissinghurst Road, Sissinghurst, from 10th March 2026 with estimated completion by 19th March 2026.
A262 Biddenden Road, A262 The Street & A262 Sissinghurst Road, Sissinghurst, will be closed from the junction with Hareplain Road to the junction with Chapel Lane, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
