It is with a heavy heart that again I have to report the passing of one of our club members.

Colin Wright, a long standing member of our club and former men's captain passed away on Saturday afternoon after a short illness. More recently he had been our local news reporter providing copy to the Mid Devon Advertiser. He was also an ever present of our MDL team.

Colin was a character, always ready with a pithy remark and a wink. He was passionate about bowls and Bovey Tracey Bowls Club, and on occasion would be seen during games throwing his cap to the ground in despair when things were not quite going to plan. His passion extended to mentoring where he would take an interest in and often give advice to junior players. He was well known at the club as the skip whose rink would always be last off the green. Colin, you will be missed.

Our thoughts are with Alice, Helen, Philip and the family at this very sad time.

Colin, where ever you are, may there be a bountiful supply of "Black Sheep"
