What a contrast this month has been meteorologically speaking. The first two weeks saw evening games being played in conditions more akin to winter, never good for the older generation. However, the last few weeks matches have been bathed in warm summer sunshine. The exception being a downpour preventing the eagerly awaited return match of the A versus B team in the Age Concern League. The outcome of the first game could not have been more evenly matched, a 3-3 draw. This type of result is a rarity in the bowling world.

The month’s remaining fixtures have once again produced a mixed bag of outcomes, some good and some not so. However, the Club remains upbeat and with many more games still to come a stronger end to the season is anticipated.

Many members are enjoying Sunday afternoon ‘roll ups’, to exercise and enjoy a cup of tea and Mardle with friends. Activities usually commence around 2pm and everyone is invited.
