As the playing season approaches, February saw on the social front, lunchtime Pavilion Bingo being held with members being asked to bring ‘sharing plate of food’ to aid catering. A lovely selection of sandwiches, savouries, quiches, and cakes was provided by everyone attending which is very much appreciated. Three games of Bingo were played with prizes for a winning line, 2 lines, 4 corners, Union Flag and a full house all combined with various adaptations of bingo lingo much to everyone’s amusement. All followed by a raffle with the prizes being Valentines related.

The month of March saw us holding our final social event with a lunchtime quiz and hotdog refreshments courtesy of Simon and Katy Hillier. As ever the event was very much enjoyed with the usual team spirit . We also thank non-members from the village who support the club regularly at our events.

At the time of publication, the Club held its Pre-season meeting on Thursday 28th March at 7.30pm in the Clubhouse where the committee outlined the season events.

In preparation for the opening of the Green on Sunday 14th April at 2.00pm, there will be a ‘Tidy Up’ event on 7th April at 10.30am. As many hands make light work a fantastic turnout would be appreciated.

The Club are fielding a team in four leagues, the Age Concern, Mid Norfolk, Dereham and Elmham Leagues (although Age Concern is for over 55s only). Additionally, there are a number friendly matches early on in the season with local sides for members to hone their skills prior to the 1st league match.

Please feel free to check out the Club’s website, www.bradenhambowlsclub.co.uk where you can find up to date information, match results and previous minutes of Committee meeting minutes.
