SECTION 137  FUNDING

This funding allows local government councils to incur expenditure for the purpose that benefits their communities when no statutory power is available.  The expenditure limit is adjusted annually in line with inflation, assuming that councils can allocate funds to projects that support their local communities.  This funding can be used for a variety of projects, including donations to charities, grants for local clubs, awards and prizes for local competitions.  Funding provides flexibility for councils to support their communities in meaningful ways.
