Two separate planning applications have now been submitted for the scheme widely known as Highsted Park.

The larger application base between the M2 at Milstead and the A2 at Bapchild is for 8,000 houses, some large commercial spaces situated around the Kent Science Park, the Southern Relief Road and a new junction on the M2 within Bredgar parish. Application Ref: 21/503914/EIOUT.

The smaller one of the two, located between Bapchild and Teynham, is for 1,250 houses, commercial space and the completion of the Northern Relief Road. Application Ref: 21/503906/EIOUT.

The expiry date for comments on both applications is 18th September 2021. This is your opportunity to give your opinion.

If you wish to comment you can find the full details for both applications on the Swale planning portal https://pa.midkent.gov.uk/online-applications/, search using the application references (or from the links above). For further help on how to search the portal see https://maidstone.gov.uk/__data/assets/pdf_file/0020/292241/Search-for-site-history-guidance.pdf

Your views and comments can be submitted on the planning portal or by writing to:

Mid Kent Planning Support, Maidstone House, King Street Maidstone ME15 6JQ - quote the application reference when responding.

As you might imagine for one of the largest planning applications in Kent there is a significant amount of documentation which will therefore take some time to consume.

Bredgar Parish Council will be reviewing the documents and submitting comments in the usual way. The matter will also be discussed at the Parish Council Meeting which begins at 7.30 in the Village Hall on Wednesday 18th August 2021.
