Following many concerns raised by villagers about the safety and sad loss of many ducks on Bredgar pond, Heather Spratt offered to construct a custom built duck house. Heather researched duck houses, duck needs and combined those with the Parish Council's requirements to bring forward a design specification. The duck house has two nesting points for ducks, one each end, a platform all around for safe roosting and incorporates plant baskets to provide cover. It has been designed with long term maintenance in mind. Following some months of construction Heather and her team assembled the duck house at the pond on Saturday 2nd March and it was officially launched with Councillors and villagers in attendance.

A picture gallery is available here showing the final assembly, launching and positioning of the duck house on Bredgar Pond.

The Parish Council would like to thank Heather and her team for providing such an excellent duck house for the village.
