Fire Safety

All club members should be aware of the procedures that are in place to ensure safety in the event of a fire. 

On Discovering Fire.

1. Activate the fire alarm. An actuating button is adjacent to each exit.

2. Phone the Fire Brigade, 999.

 

On Hearing the Fire Alarm.

1. Immediately leave the building by the nearest exit. 

2. Do not delay and do not return to collect personal possessions. 

3. Proceed to the assembly point, just inside the entrance gates.

4. Do not re-enter the building until instructed to do so by the Fire Brigade or Fire      

    Warden.

 

Specific Responsibilities.

1. When the Reception Desk is manned, the Administrative Assistant is automatically the

    Fire Warden and is the point of contact for the Fire Brigade.

2. If the Reception Desk is unmanned, the Captain or Steward in attendance is

     automatically the Fire Warden.

3. The Skips on each rink are automatically designated as Fire Marshals for their rink and

    should ensure all their players evacuate the building and assemble at the Assembly

    Point. 

4. The Skips should take their score cards to the Assembly Point and use them to check

    that everyone is out safely.

5. The Catering staff are responsible for ensuring all their employees have safely left the

     building and have gathered at the Assembly Point and then report to the Fire Warden

    that all are safely out.
