Co-Option

Following the resignation of Councillor......

There is an opportunity for a resident to join the council via co-option.

If a by-election has not been requested by the resident's of Bulwick to the 'Elections Office' by Thursday 5th March 2026, the Bulwick Parish Council will we able to Co-Opt a Councillor onto the Council.

You are very welcome to contact the Clerk or approach a councillor if you’d like an informal chat about what this involves. There are also many opportunities for professional training, which would be paid for by the council.

If you require a hardcopy of the 'BPC Co-option - Expression of Interest', Please contact the clerk and she will provide a copy for you.

The deadline to be considered for co-option is Friday 17th April 2026. By that date, you must either:

  • hand a completed .BPC Co-option - Expression of Interest' to the Clerk (In attachments below)
  • send a scanned or photographed copy to the clerk

The application(s) will then be forwarded to all Councillors to be considered and resolved at the meeting on Wednesday 6th May 2026.
