The wonders of the natural world. Behind the scenes the origin of the phrase “getting your ducks in row” has more definitions than you can shake a stick at, and by saying that we have let the cat out of the bag.

Getting your ducks in row has one of the following potential origins; 10 pin bowling where the pins were originally called ducks, getting the details of plan in the correct order, an American brewing procedure, shipbuilding and aircraft design, a shooting game at the fairground, and a host of Chinese meanings.

In the meantime, in complete ignorance of the alternative meanings – these ducks were in a row at Cusworth lake.
