History
Burniston is a village with a rich history, set on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and close to the North Sea coast. The parish has developed over time from its agricultural roots into a vibrant rural community, while still retaining much of its traditional character.
The surrounding landscape, shaped by farming and its proximity to the moors, has played an important role in the history and identity of the area.
