Did you know that 10% of “general giving” to Christ Church goes to support our Mission Partners? https://www.christchurchware.co.uk/

Q. What is “Mission”?

A. There is no universal definition of Mission but the one adopted by the Missions Advisory Committee and PCC of Christ Church is:

“those activities resulting from ministries exercised by Christians in the power of the Holy Spirit which facilitate evangelism, church planting, social action, teaching and discipling”

In its widest sense, this definition means that most outreach activities could be described as mission. For the Purposes of MAC (Missions Advisory Committee) it primarily refers to supported mission activities outside of Christ Church wherever that might be and are currently in locations as diverse as Hertford, Birmingham, Rwanda, London, Israel, Nepal and Germany/Worldwide (OM).

Q. What is the Missions Advisory Committee (MAC)?

A. A group of Christ Church members who are passionate about Mission and answerable to the PCC. We keep in touch with MPs (Mission Partners) to support, nurture, encourage and pray for them, their work and families. We also consider new applications for funding and make recommendations to the PCC for support of long or short-term mission related activity.

Q. Who are the Mission Partners (MPs)?

A. We currently support the following people and groups/organisations:

PEOPLE

ORGANISATIONS

Street Pastors in Hertford and Ware https://www.streetpastors.org

Future Hope https://future-hope.org.uk

CPAS (The Patrons of Christ Church) https://www.cpas.org.uk

TEAR FUND - Church and communities transformation project in Rwanda https://www.tearfund.org/about_us/what_we_do_and_where/countries/east_and_central_africa/rwanda/

Q. What else do we do?

A. We also assess, recommend and coordinate donations of funds to support members of Christ Church going on short-term mission trips e.g. applications for partial funding for short term mission trips to Rwanda, electives, GAP years etc.

For an application form and to arrange an interview please contact us on office@christchurchware.co.uk

Q. What can members of Christ church do to get involved?

A. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Get informed about mission and pray for Mission and those involved. Read about mission e.g. https://tifwe.org/mission-in-the-modern-world/
  2. Get to know the students who are attached to CCW every year from ANCC https://www.allnations.ac.uk
  3. Get to know some of our Mission Partners by personal contact, exchange of emails and receipt of prayer news (e.g. individuals, youth group, Midweek, MADD or a Life group could do this)(for contact details see the links above to Mission Partners).
  4. Keep in touch or get involved with helping those not funded by Christ Church (but with strong links to Christ Church) e.g. Charlotte Bolton (in Sri Lanka), Martin and Catherine Hickey (ANCC and other ministry), Paul and Ruth Lapworth, Young Life in Hertford, Operation Christmas Child and Compass Braille.
  5. Give.
  6. Go. Consider getting involved with a short or long term mission trip.

Q. Who are the members of Missions Advisory Committee and how do I get in touch?

A. The current members are Gary, Mary, Caroline, Judith, Geoff, Andrew and David

If you have questions please talk to one of us on the Committee or email: office@christchurchware.co.uk
