Cliffe & Cliffe Woods Parish Council met with community police officers PC David Brett and PC Richard Jones on Saturday 14th October at the Cliffe recreation field to discuss strategies for the prevention of anti-social behaviour within our community, in particular the irresponsible use of motorbikes on Parish Council land.

The primary objective of the meeting was to address the growing concerns of anti-social behaviour in our community, to share ideas and strategies to mitigate the problem, and develop a collaborative action plan.

PC’s Brett and Jones provided an overview of the current anti-social behaviour situation in the area, including actions they have already taken to date. They also described their work in community policing, emphasising the importance of building trust and partnerships within the community. Councillors shared the concerns and feedback they have received from residents.

Both officers wished to make it clear to residents that, whilst a police presence in the villages may not always be visible, in fact they are actively dealing with the issues being reported and have made tangible progress in tackling crime. It was clear that they are taking the matter seriously.

There was a consensus on the need to encourage residents to report anti-social behaviour promptly either using the 101 phone service or online https://www.kent.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/ The 999 service should be used to report a crime in progress or if someone is in immediate danger.

The meeting was both productive and collaborative, focusing on strategies for the prevention or reduction of anti-social behaviour. Both parties are committed to working together to improve the safety and well-being of our community. We will keep you updated on the progress and outcomes of these initiatives in due course.
