IMPORTANT UPDATE, AUGUST 2026

• Communicare, as a charity, is a non-profit making organisation and every member of the Communicare team, driver, duty officer or trustee, is a volunteer, who give their time freely for Communicare.
• We have no other source of income, so your donations are essential for Communicare to continue to provide a service for those living in Fleet and the surrounding villages.  In order that we can cover the increase to our costs, we will need to increase the recommend donation levels, last set in 2011 to our various locations.
• Communicare, in line with government policy on the change to mileage rates and to ensure our volunteers are fairly reimbursed for the running costs of their vehicles, will reimburse our volunteers with the increased mileage allowances.  This means the cost per mile of running our service will increase by 20%.
• Without taking this action to cover the cost increase, we would be putting at risk the viability of the service we currently provide.

• We do not levy a charge when we take you to your appointment, but we do recommend a donation. 

• The donations here are for return journeys and will cover our costs of mileage and other expenses.    

• If we take you to your appointment and then return to collect you, that will count as two journeys.   

• We can give you guidance if your appointment is further afield.
