2018 AGM

Our Annual General Meeting will be held this year on Friday 22 June at the Hockerton Housing Project, The Watershed, Gables Drive, Hockerton, Southwell, Nottinghamshire, NG25 0QU.

We do try to ensure that our AGMs are events of interest and therefore hope that you will be able to attend and lend your support.  The AGM will commence at 17.00 with a guided tour of the Hockerton Housing Project.  The Hockerton Housing Project is a community of sustainable homes.  It incorporates a business and a self-sufficient co-housing development.  The homes are earth-sheltered houses built with high thermal mass and high levels of insulation to eliminate the need for heating systems.  Residents of the five houses generate their own clean energy to meet their remaining energy needs and grow most of their own food, harvest their own water and recycle waste materials.  CPRE Nottinghamshire has recently supported a proposal to build a small number of similar homes at Eakring and we think that it will be very interesting to see how this lifestyle operates in practice.  The tour will include looking round an eco home and a walk round the key surrounding outside facilities including the water recycling reed beds and the wind turbine.  This tour is a unique opportunity to see the Hockerton Housing Project free of charge to you.  The tour will take a little over an hour.  Refreshments will be provided from about 18.15 in the Hockerton Visitor Centre and will be followed by our AGM.

We do very much hope that members will support the AGM this year.  We need people to attend.  Please feel free to bring a relative or friend and, if you are a Parish Council, some councillors or residents.  The AGM is a chance for members and your committee to meet each other and for us all to learn what CPRE is doing and what our people think CPRE ought to be doing.

If you wish to propose a motion for discussion at the AGM or to propose someone for election to the Committee, please let me know as soon as possible.

We do hope to see you on 22 June.  If getting to Hockerton is difficult for you, given notice we shall be very happy to see if we can help get you there.
