About us:

Craven Arms Bowling Club has been part of the town’s sporting life since at least 1895, making it one of the area’s longest‑established recreational venues. What began as a simple Victorian bowling green has grown into a thriving Bowling & Social Club at the heart of the community.

The Club is situated in a designated area of oustanding natural beauty, at the foot of the Shropshire Hills, with the Long Mynd and Cardingmill Valley (National Trust) just 7 miles North of the town. The beautiful Market Town of Ludlow, with its excellent castle, lies 9 miles to the South. One of the best fortified Manor Houses, Stokesay castle (English Heritage) is just half a mile to the South. The club is easily accessible by both road and also has good rail connections sitting on both the Cardiff to Manchester line and also the picturesque Heart of wales Line from Swansea to Shrewsbury.

Today, the club offers a friendly and inclusive environment for bowlers of all ages and abilities. Teams compete in the Marches, Ludlow, and Shrewsbury Senior Citizens leagues, while newcomers are always welcome to try the sport for the first time. Alongside bowling, members enjoy a wide range of social activities including darts, pool, skittles, dominoes, bingo, quiz nights, and regular entertainment.

With full disabled access, modern facilities, and a warm, community‑driven atmosphere, Craven Arms Bowling Club continues its long tradition of sport, friendship, and local pride. Whether you’re looking to play, relax, or simply meet new people, you’ll find a place here.
