Cresswell is a small seaside village on the Northumberland coast. It is about four miles from Ashington and lies at the southern point of the beautiful Druridge Bay. The village is dominated by the 13th Century Pele Tower, which overlooks the registered village green. The Parish boundary stretches south beyond the mouth of the River Lyne and includes Cresswell Pond Nature Reserve in the north.
The Parish Council (CPC) meets six times per year in the Village Hall, which was formerly the historic lifeboat house. Residents are welcome to attend Council meetings, which are advertised in advance on the CPC website and village notice board. Parishioners also have their own Annual Meeting held in May each year.
The Parish Council meets to consider issues affecting the local community, such as planning applications, highway matters and the environment.
