Support Us
Over the last three summers, CYGNET has been improving the facilities for audiences and actors. CYGNET now offers the students a professional space to perform to audiences, with matching rehearsal areas and dressing rooms.
CYGNET would like to thank all our sponsors and audiences with whose help we have:
- insulated, heated and redecorated our large upstairs rehearsal room – which was used by CREATIVE COW last spring and will feature in the forthcoming production of TRINITY
- replaced the showers and refurbished the dressing rooms for our students and visiting companies to enjoy
- replaced our ancient boiler with a modern high-efficiency one, to complement the solar panels on our roof already generating electricity and contributing to the grid
With these improvements now we can:
- use our building to its full potential, providing our wonderful students with the facilities they deserve and are entitled to expect
- allow other community groups and touring theatre and dance companies to use our theatre in the evenings, at weekends and during vacations, producing additional income which will help keep our students’ fees down
- keep our carbon footprint and our future expenditure on heating and lighting low and economical!
CAN YOU HELP US?
We are so grateful for all the financial help that has been given towards upgrading our theatre. But we still need your help, in order that we can provide many more years of this unique training programme – so appreciated by our students, and in turn so appreciated by our loyal audiences. Can you sponsor a bursary for a student? Our students receive no public money for grants towards the cost of their training or maintenance. A small or large donation towards the Student Welfare Fund or specifically for sponsorship of a student would be much appreciated.
We are inviting you to give a donation
Even if you are not able to give much extra cash, please do continue to support our work. The experience of playing to an audience is one of the most valuable parts of the students training.
Thank you so much for your support and we look forward to welcoming you to the Theatre soon.
