Home and Away - there was something for everyone yesterday at Alton Meeting Centre - the person-centred, evidence based support service from Dementia-friendly Alton, now extending with funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Whilst some members enjoyed personalising their own snack box for the Movie afternoon - dreams of sunny days away with 'Carry on Cruising', whilst other members cycled their way round the New Forest National Park Authority - thanks to support from that amazing team at Pedall - New Forest Inclusive Cycling - picnic with friends, smiles all round and some off road repairs - is there anything we can't do ?? Doesn't look like it. One 13 year old volunteer who left his screen / games at home today to join us in the Forest was so pleased that he did - as 'All of the people were really nice and friendly today. He enjoyed the whole thing, not just the cycling'. We were so pleased that he joined us for the day too

New volunteers are always welcome - no qualifications required - just a willingness to enjoy the simple pleasure of helping others to discover what 'they can do' xx To find out more about volunteering at Dementia-friendly Alton click on the link below and contact us - http://www.dementia-friendly-alton.org.uk/.../join-us.../....
