Wheelchair Presentation

Farnborough Neighbourcare has presented Aldershot Centre for Health with a new wheelchair. 'This increases the number of wheelchairs available and will really help people who need wheelchair assistance when going to their medical appointments at the Health Centre,' said Terri Willcocks, Chair of Trustees at Farnborough Neighbourcare.

Neighbourcare drivers transport people to their medical appointments when they are unable to use public transport. Generally, our clientele consists of the more elderly members of the community and our 30 drivers complete around 1600 trips a year. We are always keen to attract new volunteers either to help out in the office or to drive. The main advantage of volunteering with us is the flexibility. A driver can choose where, when and how often they drive for us. The Neighbourcare office is manned by volunteers between 10.00 am and 12 noon on weekdays, but at other times messages can be left on the telephone answering machine.

So, if you are a cheerful individual with a sympathetic manner who would like to help others in their spare time, then volunteering with us could be the answer! If you would like to find out more about our organisation, then please telephone the Neighbourcare Office on 01252 371199.
