Residents may be aware that the owners of the landfill have gone into liquidation.  The EA have asked that the PC provide the following information to residents.

NEW TELEPHONE SERVICE FOR CARERS AND INFORMATION FOR NEW CARERS

Carers Oxfordshire are launching Carers Phone Friends, a new service providing supportive calls to carers who are feeling isolated.  If you could benefit from the service or would be interested in volunteering as a caller then please look at the documents below.  There is also information for new carers as to their rights in a document below.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT REORGANISATION

Katherine House Hospice are appealing for volunteers to be trained to offer their amazing service.  Please see the poster below.

NEW BUS SERVICE

New bus services starting on Monday July 1st will restore timetabled public transport coverage to many villages to the north of Bicester.  Operated by Ability CIC with financial support from Oxfordshire County Council, services 81 and 82 will operate on Monday to Saturday offering three off-peak return trips plus early morning and early evening facilities.  Additionally, new service 108 journeys will supplement the existing provision between Langford Village and Bicester Town Centre, giving a total of four trips in each direction on Monday to Friday.  Finmere will be served by Service 82.  For timetables please see the attachment below.

Choose is an organisation looking at the cost of social broadband, given the serious effects of being unable to access online activities.  They have compiled a full guide to the social broadband tariffs available in the UK, which is kept regularly updated.  

 

Thames Water Priority Services

To support their customers TW provide a free priority services register, to find out more go to https://www.thameswater.co.uk/help-and-advice/customer-commitment/priority-services.  TW recommend that in the event of an emergency they try to deliver bottled water to the most vulnerable but that anyone at-risk and/or self-isolating who needs water supplying to them reaches out to friends, family members or neighbours to help.  Those with a pre-existing health condition or mobility issue, or with nobody to help them, should join the register at the link above.
